I recently spoke to Jonathan Jacobson, the endorsed Democratic candidate for state representative in the 148th district. I found him to be a candidate who genuinely cares about our community and the issues close to my heart. He understands the challenges and opportunities we face and has a proven track record of making a difference for our community.
He’s earned my vote in the Democratic Primary on Tuesday, Aug. 13. Here’s why:
Since 2016, Jonathan has served on the Board of Representatives, demonstrating his commitment to public service. His work on the Board of Reps has equipped him with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively represent us at the state level.
He believes that we deserve to know what’s happening in our government and that our voices should be heard in the decision-making process. Transparency is crucial. His commitment to these principles ensures that he will serve with integrity and honesty.
Jonathan has a strong track record of fighting for us. As a Board of Reps member, he has voted against cuts to the Stamford Public School’s budget and voted to restore funding that other Board of Reps members have cut. Under his leadership, the city is taking steps to install speed cameras near schools in our district to improve safety for our students and our neighborhoods. Jonathan’s environmental advocacy led to an ordinance banning plastic bags, plastic straws, and Styrofoam — one of the first in the state, which reduced plastic on our beaches by more than 80% and is saving us taxpayer dollars in waste and recycling.
It is clear that when Jonathan gives you his word, you can trust he will live up to it.
That’s why on critically important issues, such as a woman’s right to choose and abortion care as well as funding for road safety initiatives. We/I need Jonathan in Hartford representing us.
We can trust Jonathan to put us, his constituents, and our city first. I am confident he will represent our district with distinction. Please join me in voting for Jonathan Jacobson for state representative, 148th District on Tuesday, Aug. 13.
