As a feminist and the son of an OBGYN, I am deeply committed to ensuring that every woman has the fundamental right to make her own reproductive choices. I firmly believe that decisions about reproductive and sexual health should be made by individuals in consultation with their healthcare providers, free from governmental interference. I support access to comprehensive reproductive and gender affirming healthcare services, including contraception and safe, legal abortion. Protecting reproductive rights is essential not only for women’s health and autonomy but also for gender equality and social justice.
Ethical Integrity
As an elected official, I hold myself to the highest standards of ethical integrity and accountability. I believe in transparency, honesty, and serving with the utmost dedication to the public interest, and have proven my commitment to these high standards. I am committed to fostering a culture of integrity within our government, ensuring that decisions are made with empathy, fairness, and impartiality,
Public Safety
I am dedicated to prioritizing road safety as a critical component of our community's well-being. Ensuring safe streets and highways is not just a matter of policy for me; it's a personal commitment to protecting the lives of our residents and visitors. Notably, I spearheaded Stamford’s efforts to place automated speeding cameras in front of our schools, ensuring the safety of our teachers, students, and faculty. I advocate for robust infrastructure improvements, including well-maintained roads, sidewalks, and bike lanes, in order to enhance safety for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists alike. I support comprehensive traffic management strategies, investment in public transportation, public awareness campaigns on safe driving practices, and stringent enforcement of traffic laws.
Cost of Living
I am committed to addressing the pressing issue of reducing the costs of living for our community. I understand the financial challenges that many of our residents face, from housing affordability to everyday expenses. As a member of the Board of Representatives, I have consistently voted to bring more affordable housing to Stamford, while also implementing policies that promote economic stability and affordability. This includes advocating for fair wages, affordable housing initiatives, and measures to lower utility costs and healthcare expenses. I have and continue to be committed to finding innovative solutions that improve the quality of life for all residents and ensure our community remains a place where everyone can afford to live, work, and prosper.
Environmental Protection
I recognize the urgent need to protect our planet for current and future generations. As a member of the Board of Representatives, I led Stamford’s efforts to regulate carryout bags, plastic straws, and Styrofoam. I have proven to be a staunch advocate for policies that prioritize clean energy initiatives, promote conservation efforts, and combat climate change. It is crucial that we preserve our natural resources, reduce carbon emissions, and safeguard our air, water, and land. I support initiatives that promote renewable energy sources, encourage recycling and waste reduction, and advocate for green infrastructure projects. By working together with community leaders, businesses, and residents, we can create a healthier and more sustainable environment for everyone.
