Jonathan Jacobson proudly serves as the State Representative for Connecticut's 148th District, representing parts of Stamford including portions of Glenbrook, East Side, Downtown, the Cove, and surrounding neighborhoods. A near-lifelong Stamford resident, local attorney, husband, and father, Jonathan has dedicated his career to public service and community advocacy.

Raised in Stamford, Jonathan developed an early appreciation for the importance of community involvement and civic engagement. His deep roots in the city, combined with a commitment to improving the lives of others, inspired him to pursue a career centered on service, advocacy, and problem-solving.

Jonathan's public service began on Stamford's Board of Representatives, where he served for eight years and earned a reputation as a thoughtful and effective advocate for residents. During his tenure, he helped lead Stamford's municipal ban on plastic bags, championed street safety initiatives, and worked to make local government more transparent, accountable, and responsive to the public.

Elected to the Connecticut House of Representatives in 2024, Jonathan has quickly established himself as a bipartisan and results-oriented legislator. During his first term, he worked across party lines to advance legislation addressing quality-of-life concerns, consumer protection, public safety, transportation, and animal welfare. He served as a lead sponsor of legislation prohibiting the sale of commercially bred dogs, cats, and rabbits in pet stores and was an early supporter of legislation recognizing Diwali as a state holiday in Connecticut. Jonathan has also been a leading voice in efforts to protect Connecticut small businesses from predatory lending practices and to improve safety on Connecticut's roads and highways.

Jonathan believes government works best when it is accessible, transparent, and focused on delivering practical results. He is committed to listening to constituents, building consensus, and ensuring that the voices of Stamford residents are heard in Hartford.

Outside of public office, Jonathan is a civil litigator where he represents individuals and small businesses throughout Connecticut. Whether representing clients in court or constituents in Hartford, Jonathan approaches every challenge with a commitment to fairness, accountability, and practical solutions. Jonathan lives in Stamford with his wife Lauren, their son Ezra, and their dog Chewbacca.
